This project entails that students build their own Altar for the Day of the Dead in a shoebox, so that they can present it to their class, either in person, or using Flipgrid as a means to record their presentation ahead of time. This project promotes the listening and conversational component of the Spanish language, and it encourages them to ask questions about their learning.

What About Alice? book talk and practical suggestions: text features and craft
This powerpoint is an overview of the mentor text, What About Alice? While it incorporates history, it's a delightfully funny book to read aloud! Furthermore, I provide examples of how to extract certain pieces of the text for deeper analysis.
