In the blank at the top, you will add whichever assignment or genre your students are working on. The boxes are a place to type student names. Once they move from one step of the writing process to the next, I would either have my students come tell me so I could move them or they would go to my computer (while it was displaying the tracker) and move themse

This is a daily 5 check-in for the smartboard. There are only four rotations on here because we only do three a day. There is one extra in case we get to a fourth. A fifth rotation could be easily added. The students choose their rotations first thing when they come in the classroom. This saves a lot of time between rotations. Then their choices are up on the smartboard each time we switch rotations. The students names are in the color of their reading group so they can easily find their name. Y

Importance of learning English language arts

English language arts (ELA) concepts — reading, writing, listening, and speaking — empower students to become effective communicators, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners. They are the foundation for all other types of learning as students must rely on ELA skills to master content from other subject areas and communicate what they’ve learned.

Strong reading skills can help students make sense of written content, and gather information for further analysis. Writing skills can help students articulate their ideas, construct arguments, and synthesize information. And speaking and listening skills empower students to clearly present their ideas, participate in group discussions, and collaborate with their classmates. This is why teaching English language arts is critically important for student’s success in school and beyond.
