This is an assessment I use at the end of Brave New World to ensure students are able to internalize the social commentary (realizing the text is not a literal prediction, but a warning) and cite textual evidence while still employing their ability to write, revise, edit, and plan writing in one sitting. I allow students to bring in a 3x5in notecard with their thesis, evidence, and in-text citations already created OR I allow them to use their novels during the assessment.
