I developed this product for use in an Honors English II class. Students first respond to the common prompt before we read. I gave them ten minutes to write, and then they volunteered to share their responses. Then, after we read, I had students choose groups, and I assigned each group a prompt to respond to using the ACES format. Finally, students choose another prompt to respond to individually. Students have choice which helps all students to discuss the text, make connections, and deepe
