This item includes a full MS Word page of a Citing Text Evidence anchor chart. I print the full page sheets on card stock, laminate them, and place them in my writing center and table buckets. I also enlarge it and create a poster sized chart with our poster maker at school. The second page has the same sentence stems with 2 on a page. These I also print on card stock, laminate, and give to the students. They receive a personal copy for home use and another for in class.

Put together a cute pencil clip chart and use clothespins with student's names on them to keep track of where they are in the writing process. I included colored printouts, as well as black and white, so you can print the words on yellow card stock paper. After printing, glue or tape the papers together to whatever size you like, and laminate it to keep it all year round.

Journaling

Encourage students to keep daily journals where they can freely express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This practice helps them develop their writing style and build the habit of writing regularly.

Writing Prompts

Provide engaging prompts that encourage imaginative storytelling. For instance, you could ask students to write about a world without the internet, or ask them to describe something only using one of their five senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, or taste).

Peer Editing
