This includes three assignments addressing two dystopian novels: BRAVE NEW WORLD and 1984. The assignment includes the following: (1) novel charts (2) an essay comparing ONE of the novels to ONE of three dystopian movies and (3) using the second novel to parallel song lyrics that are annotated for tone, figurative language and theme. Mythology in Lyrics
Get those students listening to MORE music!
Great as a review or follow-up activity to a unit on Greek & Roman mythology, a substitute assignment, or an extra credit assignment.
Students are asked to list songs in which the lyrics reference mythology gods, heroes, monsters, stories, etc. in various musical genres.
