Oodles of Music
Amanda Gorman's book, "Change Sings", inspired this new song for young singers that calls on all of us to use kindness and helpfulness to change somebody’s life. With lots of repetition and counting sequences in the lyrics, this easy-to-learn song is the perfect concert selection for K-2 and relates to character ed and SEL, as well as music. This song can be the starting point for a debate. It’s about the role of mother/carer. The setting is in a flying saucer. An alien looks down on the multi-tasking feats of a young mother and ponders. It’s also a starter for an art piece “What would the alien look like”? Musicians have an opportunity to play the riff which is for more advanced pupils and percussion for those just starting out. In the pack 1. Animated video of the song (or PowerPoint if you prefer) 2. Lyrics 3. 2 mp3s vocal and

This song was created for a Physical Therapist working with students on developmental gross motor skills required for walking. The song progresses through a hierarchy of gross motor movements paired with an animal providing fun opportunities for gross motor skill practice. This song would also work well as a PE activity for young children or in a music class to reinforce moving in time with a steady beat. The instrumental track allows for lyric modification- either by repeating a verse to deve

My daughter loves singing the Finger Family song. I wanted to start a series of Bible versions to get her singing about people of character. This is the first set of Finger Families to come: Women of God Set 1. Cut along the lines to separate the finger puppets, fold the top flaps down, tape or glue the sides down, and start singing these Bible characters into the song! Teach your kids about the featured women by downloading the corresponding character sheets.
