Choose Love Pillar: GratitudeThis fun activity allows students to work independently or in small groups to take a closer look at different music genres. They will do a deep dive into music lyrics, and make a top 10 list of songs that they believe promote the pillar of Gratitude. They will be able to discuss, and complete a reflective journal.

This is a great multi-day activity for after a concert, before a break, for a substitute teacher activity, or just to get to know your students better (SEL and Cultural Relevance!). The Grammy Awards are coming February 5, and this is a great opportunity for your students to check out a variety of musical styles. I have had high engagement with this activity both in person and remote. You will receive a PDF with links to Canva slides which you can present, or download your own template and edit.
