Building a Positive Classroom Climate: Inclusion Activity Grades 6-9
This is an Inclusion Demonstration Activity for Grades 6-9 and would be great at "Back to School" time, for a Health class, a unit on discrimination or if bullying is an issue in your class.

In this activity, students will be planning a Halloween party for their class. They will need to "purchase" supplies for their party using a budget that you set. I set a budget that forces the students to make budget choices, i.e., I don't give them enough to buy everything they want. Students will work in partners to plan their party, making decisions based on their budget constraints. Students are also asked to perform some data analysis on the party choices. Ice Breaker Nuclear Fallout
For this activity students are asked to respond to a nuclear attack. The activity outlines some parameters the kids must consider and abide by. Nice way to get kids to work together and problem solve.

Virtual Trip to Disneyland and Quiz / scavenger hunt
This is something you can do with kids at home or with students in a class. There are 8 links to videos of popular Disneyland rides. After each ride there will be a set of questions that kids have to answer (regarding the ride they just went on). Your US history class (grades 7 and up) becomes the Admissions Committee for the fictitious United States University, inducting its first Freshman class in 1840. Which movers and shakers of the day will be accepted? Your students will write Recommendation Letters for their candidates and then your whole class becomes the admissions committee. Rebels and radicals, businessmen, literary figures, soldiers and diplomats, inventors will all be present. There are only nine slots! Who will be admitted?
