Inherited Traits Versus Learned Traits - Small Group Reader's Theater

Created by

This is a small group reader's theater that was written for 3 students. It is a science reader's theater. If needed, you can change the names to make it for all boys or girls. This reader's theater was written to help remind students about the difference between inherited traits and learned traits. It ties our science curriculum in to reading. Anytime I can combine two subjects I do. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they

Photosynthesis; A Dramatic Reading

A short play that can be read out, acted, modified by pupils to encourage the learning and understanding of photosynthesis. This is aimed at KS3, but works equally well with KS4, especially if you encourage the pupils to improve the content to cover what they are expected to know (with key terminology such as limiting factors, nutrients etc). This play has been showcased at educational conferences, widely shared amongst teachers, and was published as part of the Guardian newspapers' Summer Crea

This document has a script for a play or skit that your students can put on after learning about food chains, food webs, and habitats and biomes. We used this as our culminating activity or STEAM project at the end of a science chapter about food chains, food webs, habitats and biomes. I used this with a fourth grade class but shared it with third and fifth grade colleagues and they said it worked well also. Before having students complete this skit packet, you would break them up into grou
