Stand Up If... Properties of Quadrilaterals
Students are given random cards and they need to stand up if their card has that property. For example, if a student has a picture of a square, they will stand when you call out "all sides congruent". The cards have pictures or words so they can also be used for random grouping. Calming Mindfulness Meditation Script for Testing (2-3 minutes)
Our school counselors have asked us to do mediation with student's before STAR testing, so this is the script I developed to use with students. The language seems best fitted for middle school or high school students, but could easily be adapted for elementary as well. With a focus on calming breathing and mindfulness, this would be beneficial to use with students before any kind of major assessment or standardized testing.

Vocabulary Script
I generally use this script for small groups. On the activity is a vocabulary bank for the words used in the script. I usually assign 8-10 vocabulary words (used correctly) to be written into the dialogue. It is a fun activity that helps each students review their vocabulary words in my Civics and History classes. It can be edited to add more spaces for vocabulary or change the name on the Film clapper. This is a great tool for reviewing vocabulary.

While at this level most of math is application however geometry requires a lot of memorizing that students aren’t used to doing in math. This is a fun and engaging way to work on those terms.
