Christmas/New Year Conversational Topics
Quick, printable conversational questions to ask upon return from Christmas Break. I use these within my social/pragmatic language groups to target conversational turn-taking, topic maintenance, reciprocal conversation, and asking/answering questions. I have my students draw a card from a pile or container. To move on from their turn they must 1. answer the question, 2. ask another student the question or a question related to the topic, or 3. make a relevant contribution to the topic.

Drama Club New Years Activity | Improv Game | Theater Task Cards
These drama club improv task cards are themed to the new year and are easy to use in a pinch. They can be used as a warm up or exercise within your theater group. They could be adapted for virtual learning as well. Simply cut out the task cards and have the students gather as an “audience”. Then, call each student up one by one. Youth Discussion Lesson - "Expectations"
This is a guide to a youth group or upper elementary age lesson for Sunday school, youth meeting, etc. The topic is expectations, and how we have to be mindful of how our expectations can affect our moods and choices. This lesson was originally written for use in the month of January, using New Year's resolutions as a jumping-off point for the discussion. However, it can easily be adapted for use around the beginning of a new school year.
