Plants - Label the Flower, Lima Bean Observation

Here are two printables that I made using my free-hand drawings and Microsoft Word. The first is a sheet where your students can color and label the parts of a plant. The second is a lima bean observation sheet. In my class, we put lima beans and a damp paper towel in plastic bags. We then take them out to observe them every few days. I have the students draw their observations in chronological order on this sheet. Enjoy! Please check out my blog, Kindergarten Simplicty, for more ideas!

Garden Glove Observation Book and Experiment

I have seen the Garden Glove in action before and figured this would be a great activity for my second and third graders to do to learn about how plants develop and grow. We are covering our last standards regarding plants and animals and this is a great activity that goes along with it. It takes a few weeks, making short observations each day and recording them in the book here. Students must illustrate, label, and write what is happening here. I have them write one sentence each day, though s
