The Ike Dike Topography Socratic Seminar
In this Socratic Seminar, students will debate the proposal of the Ike Dike as a response to Hurricane Ike, which hit the Houston/Galveston area in 2008. Students will read four articles from the Houston Chronicle and annotate the articles in preparation of the seminar. The future of us
The books I chose were intended for an audience of secondary students. The thematic unit covers the themes of fairness, morality, and ethical responsibilities. I have included summaries of each book as well as comments of why I believe they would be a good choice. Included are three different projects that would work with any of the books chosen. This is a terrific lesson for cross curriculum opportunities and/or team teaching.
