Humane Education, as well as Character Education, is mandated in the State of Florida. But more than that, our county shelters are killing at a rate of 150 animals per WEEK! We need to educate our students the effects of non spaying/neutering has on our animals and shelters. This hands-on activity ties to the book, It's Raining Cats and Cats by Jeanne Provost. Perfect for grades 1-3 but we have been using the title with our middle school kids for fund raising events.
