Based on OpenSciEd's Thermal Energy unit. Students observe droplets on the side of the cup and brainstorm where they might be coming from. Two investigations are completed to collect evidence, and students learn that the droplets are coming from condensation. Students end class with the Cold Lemonade on a Hot Day assignment. I made this chart so my ELL students could write what they saw each few days when we germinated seeds. They put a set in a clear plastic cup with damp paper towels, and a different set into a cup with soil. We learned the vocabulary words for various plant parts, and practiced writing a sentence each few days on our observations.
