Teachers – are you looking for a great center activity for your kids? How about a sponge activity? Well, this basic skills game will have kids counting pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters to reveal a picture, having fun without realizing they are learning at the same time! If they happen to answer the problem incorrectly, don't worry – the answer will turn red and they can try again. Students can work alone or in groups. Estimated time for the activity is 10-15 minutes.

This is an activity where students cut out the cards (or teacher can prior to lesson) and students find the standard form, expanded form, written form and multiplication form of the number and match them up. They can paste them on a piece of construction paper, or just match them in a memory type game. The numbers go up to hundred thousands and millions.

A place value chart is a must in the math classroom. Students can use these charts to create a number and write the word form and the expanded for the number. Easy to use! I have an activity where the students work in groups of 2 and create the largest or smallest number possible using a 10 sided die. They love the activity because they create the number! They then write the number in expanded and word form.
