It's difficult for hearing students to get used to using NMS. This is a fun way to use NMS in a game format to ease the pressure of "making faces". Distribute cards to students. Have them go to the door, open it as if what is on their card is on the other side of the door. Make sure that they aren't being TOO silly. Remember the TV Game show $1,000,000 Pyramid? It's a great way to practice FS! Print as many sets of the cards as you like. Divide students into pairs or groups of 3-4. Give one student in each group a category card and write the category on the board. S1 can give hints as to the words that are on the card, S2 (3-4) must guess the five words on the card by fingerspelling them. Set a timer for 2 min and see which pair/group can guess all/the most words in the category!
