Song of Roland: Presentation of Select Portions of the Epic
This unit covers basic information about the early Middle Ages. Activities include research assignments and creative writing. Students present groups of Laisses as sportscasters calling a football game, a 60 Minutes newscast, a comic book, and a funeral eulogy. A student emcee provides pertinent details that tie the story together. This is a fun way to get students to think critically, be creative, and present their productions. My class of high-risk English II students loved this challenge. COM
