The goal of this unit is to identify complaints described in the Declaration of Independence, such as stationing soldiers in people’s homes, taxes, and cutting off trade with other countries. This allows the students to think about the complaints in chunks and gives the teacher feedback through the student assignment from each piece. This can be used for middle or high school. I've had a lot of fun with students (~9-11 yrs old) teaching letter sounds and discussing different cultures that eat different kinds of animals. From my experience the activity has great potential to discuss the different things students eat at home. I originally made it because I had a surly yr 4 class years back that thought they were beyond letter sounds..... They were wrong.
