Black History Month Choice Board SeeSaw Google Slides Read Aloud and Video
I created this choice board as a SeeSaw activity (linked) but it can also be used with google classroom. The students will choose someone to learn about and they will read a book and watch a video about that person. Then they will answer a series of questions about what they learned! Links on the last slide.

Shemaiah Joy has created a learning kit on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The learning kit consists of 5 worksheets paired with videos that interactively guide students through the worksheets with visual effects, sound effects and related music. The kit is centered around the non-fiction biography entitled “A Picture Book of Martin Luther King, Jr.” Once students have watched the first video, where Shemaiah Joy reads the book, any worksheet and video pair can be completed. Black History Month STEM Challenge Video: Functional Furniture
This challenge was created as a way to celebrate Black History and/or Women’s History Month in science class. The premise is inspired by Sarah E. Goode’s 1885 invention of the folding cabinet bed. She was one of the first African-American women to obtain a patent for her invention.
The challenge is great any time of the year, but works especially well for Black History or Women's History Month!
