Preview of Capture the Flag

Capture the Flag

Capture the Flag is a math game for 3rd-5th grade students learning/enhancing their basic 0-12 multiplication facts. Also, through game play, students will be working on structuring numbers, adding, and subtracting. My classroom loves it! Teachers: I recommend printing and taping the four boards together so the flags for each are in the middle. Also I laminated mine so they can be wiped clean and played for years to come! Also, you will need to provide the dice for the game.

This multiplication book I made for the end of the year when we were leaning about multiplication and arrays. I had the kids draw (like an array), add, and multiply each equation. When I made the books I copied the cover on construction paper. Then I copied the set of equations and cut them in 2 and then staple on the left hand side the construction paper cover and back. This cuts down on copies. I try to copy all of the covers for the different multiples on different colored construction

My students love using dry erase markers! I used these pages to make laminated booklets so they could practice writing their facts in a fun way. The booklet includes the facts 1-12 as well as a blank page for practicing any fact or fluency competition among students to see who can fill out the page on a particular fact the fastest. I also printed a set of just the blank pages and had students make their own pages of facts and I laminated their own writing. They LOVED that their own product was

Where is Blue? This is a great activity to use to build number sense. To Assemble: The first page is a blank 'number line'. Print onto cardstock and laminate as a long strip. The second page contains Blue and Blue's house. Cut out Blue and Blue's house and laminate. Put tape or velcro onto the back of Blue and Blue's house. To Play: Place Blue and Blue’s House onto the number line in different places. Say, “Blue’s house is on number ___. Where is Blue?” You can place Blue’s house before Blue

Hello all! I created this proportional and color coded bar model set through 5 as a tool to help introduce kindergarteners to bar model. This set is best if printed in color and then laminated before cut into pieces for longer use! I have done lessons using them and it has gone extremely well. I fit 4 sets of bars numbered 1-5 on a single sheet. Enjoy! Steve "Math" Mahalic.
