Half-Life Labs with M&M's, Licorice, and Plain Paper
This product includes two versions of my M&M half-life laboratory activity. One version is a more traditional Earth Science radioactive dating lab. Create A Creature Taxonomy Project
In this activity, which is based on Carlos Linnaeus' animal classification system, student will identify a new creature that they have discovered. They begin by using their creativity to think of a creature that does not exist. It has them identifying the characteristics of three of the five Kingdoms and then takes them through identifying their creature from Phylum all the way to Species.

Murder in the Alps! Otzi the Iceman was killed in the Alps around 3,000 BCE. Why was he so far from home? Understanding Hammurabi's Law Code
This is a one-page word document about the law code of Hammurabi. It includes a short paragraph introduction with two questions about Hammurabi. The second part of the handout is a graphic organizer. Students choose any 7 of 9 laws, identify the aspect of life the law is about, rewrite the law in their own words, and then identify what the law says about life in ancient Mesopotamia.
