This was developed to give the students in my classroom an opportunity to show understanding of Main Idea. CAN BE USED FOR ANY GRADE / CONTENT
Choice Boards can easily be scaffolded by
- having students fold to see only the row they are answering
- having students find more than one (across and down) to challenge them

"This I Believe" Essay
As popularized by NPR.org, teach your students how to write a "This I Believe" essay. Guess Who I Am
ICEBREAKER!
Students each fill out a "Guess who I am" worksheet. Collect worksheets and redistribute to the class. Each student will then try and locate the student who filled out the paper they have in their hand.

Boggle Board Sheet
These are designed to be early finishers. There are 20 sheetsIt's easy to create more, it's just random letters in the boxes, I left them open so you can edit. Directions: Create words using ONLY the letters in the board. You can’t double the letters unless there are repeated in the board. Thanks for your interest in my product.

IRLA Reading Log
This reading log fits with the IRLA reading program. It includes a spot for students to record the date, book title, level, minutes read, steps earned, and a parent signature. A note at the top also reminds parents ONLY to sign the log if they heard or saw their student reading!

Poetry Menu Project
This Poetry project can be used as a summative assessment to indicate student knowledge of poetry terms. It encompasses figurative language, sound devices, and the types of poems. It allows students to choose their assignments according to their interests, while still providing you with basic guidelines as to what you expect as an end result. I teach an honors class and a regular class, so I have different point goals for each class. These projects turned out great when I assigned them this year
