Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a South Carolina native, but my home is in Winter Haven, Florida. This year I finished my tenth year of teaching! I have taught 4th grade in Florida for the past three years, but I spent most of my career teaching students with disabilities in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. I also taught special education law and implications of students with various disabilities for four years at the collegiate level.
You can tell a lot about me by my hobbies and the things I enjoy. I'm a mother, wife, teacher, reader, swimmer, laugh-er, computer nerd and generally a free spirit. Most of my discussions start with “I know this idea is thinking outside of the box, but…..”. I love to develop new things and as I am sure you could guess, I am completely obsessed with Pinterest. So you could say my teaching style is upbeat, emerged in technology, and FUN!
I was honored as the Reading Teacher of the year in 2013 and the Professor of the Month in 2014.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Special Education, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.
The most important part of my life is that I continue to grow spiritually and professionally. On a daily basis I strive to deepen the relationships with the important people in my life. This not only impacts my life, but also the lives of the people I touch. I am extremely passionate about education and how a good, quality education can impact the future of our nation.
