TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught across the K-5 elementary grades, but my heart is in intermediate teaching 4th and 5th grade. In addition to teaching, I also have experience writing ELA curriculum materials.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that students learn the best by actively interacting with the texts they read and write about through discussion. I believe students need access to high-interesting, relevant, rigorous, and engaging materials, especially with writing.

My husband and I welcomed our first daughter to our family in 2021, so my days are now spent reading The Pout Pout Fish and getting baby snuggles! I love travel, exercise, creating all kinds of things, playing with my two huskies, and spending time with my family.
