I have been teaching in a variety of ways for 18 years. My first 5 years of teaching experience came with teaching Latin to students between the 3rd and 8th grades. Those were wonderful years of growth for me as a teacher. Since then I have served as a tutor/teacher for homeschool cooperatives teaching both high school Spanish and upper elementary/middle school grammar and writing. I have been homeschooling my own 4 children, including one with special needs and several learning disabilities, for 8 years now. I have also been an online ESL teacher for 3.5 years.
My greatest joy as a teacher is leading my students to discover the world around them. I am especially fond of language of all types, and love dissecting sentences and analyzing literary characters. I believe that by modeling attentiveness and interest to the world, as well as asking thought-provoking questions, teachers can guide their students to the point that learning is a natural aspect of life.

I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BA in Spanish with a minor in Linguistics.
I am a wife and mom to 4 boys. :) Our family loves to stay active outdoors. Although I spend much of my time watching them play on the soccer pitch, I also enjoy hiking, kayaking, and running. Reading is a beloved activity in our family. We have enjoyed many, many books together. I am passionate about teaching students about the world: its wonders, its history, and its languages.
