TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching elementary grades since 1996. During that time, I have taught grades 4,5, and 6. I love the energy in these grades, the sense of humor, and the childhood wonder that still dominates.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I tend to use a great deal of cooperative and group work. I like conceptual work with a tangible product.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Graduated Cum Laude from the University of Vermont Golden Key Honor Society

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's of Science in Education and Psychology from the University of Vermont Master's Degree in Special Education - Gifted Studies from the University of Missouri - Columbia

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love all things outside and athletic, and I have always worked in rural educational settings because I need to be near mountains, rivers, forests, and fresh air. My students have diverse economic and social backgrounds, as most rural populations do. I have lived in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont, so I am grounded in New England.
