15 years teaching Middle School!
My classroom motto is: "I can do hard things!" I love helping the kids know they can do the hard things life throws at them. I want them to learn how to persevere through life, and that when they put their mind to it, they can accomplish anything! I am here to help them. I want my students to learn how to advocate for themselves. If you need help, come ask! But I can't help you if I don't know what you are struggling with. 2011 Teacher of the Year
I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. As a little girl, I would play school with my little sister or with my stuffed animals. I would be teaching them the things that I was learning in school. But the question was what did I want to teach? I started out as a music ed major, then I realized that I didn't have the necessary skills to be successful with that. Then when I was in my Freshman writing class, I realized that I COULD write! So I decided to be an English Ed major. I switched my minors a few times--history, chemistry...Then I settled on an English Ed Composite degree (required no minor). So I tell people my minor was in literature! B.S. English Education Composite from BYU-Idaho
