I have taught Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades because of this, I know that teaching in primary means that you have a wide variety of levels in your classroom. My goal is provide products that can meet the needs of ALL students in your classroom.
I believe that all children can learn. It’s my job as their teacher to learn as much as I can about them so I can get my students to reach their fullest potential. With teaching younger grades, I know this means having TONS of varied resources to challenge students on their level. I create products that I use in my own classroom.
I have been nominated for a district wide award in my school district that is called the Rose award. I have also been nominated multiple times to be the teacher of the year in my building. I was recently chosen to represent my school in Washington DC for the National School of Character award. I am lucky to be chosen to create a reading room for our building and a STEM room, both of which were one of the first in our district and led other buildings in their own creation of these rooms.
I have a bachelors in elementary and early childhood education. My masters is in reading as a certified reading specialist. I also have my +30 in education. I am a lifelong learner, and I am constantly analyzing my teaching and finding ways to improve my instruction.
I was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri. I always knew that I wanted to be a classroom teacher. Having graduated during the Great Recession, it was a rough start to my school career. But through hard-work, working multiple jobs while waiting for my big break, I am so glad to have my dream job! I work in one of the top performing schools in Missouri and love going to work everyday! I am lucky enough to have two of the best jobs in the world! I am the teacher of an amazing group of First Graders and the mom to two beautiful children.
