TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a 2nd grade teacher in a public elementary school and I love my job. I love the age and all how their love for learning is so rich. I also love creating new things for my classroom and students. I have a wide range of interests, ages and abilities and my products are created to fit a variety of learning needs and styles

MY TEACHING STYLE

In my classroom I often teach a concept as a whole group and then break into small learning centers. My groups are created by ability and personalities. During centers I reinforce skills from that day as well skills from past lessons. The activities I create can be independent or teacher directed, based on the final outcome and abilities.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Rated a Highly Effective Teacher by New York State.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned by undergrad in Education and American Studies from the Liberal Arts College, Skidmore. I then went on to earn my masters from the University of Albany in Literacy. I continue to take many professional development courses through my school system and even teach courses to fellow teachers.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm married to my college sweetheart! I love the beach, though I live in cold upstate New York. :) I also love traveling and my goal is to get to all 7 continents!
