I have been teaching, tutoring, and working with students for over 20 years! I have taught many different grade levels and many different type of learners. I have been a classroom teacher in public and private schools teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I have served students K-5 as a reading specialist. I have worked with students that are home schooled. I have loved every single one of my teaching experiences.
Because all students learn differently, I combine different teaching styles to meet the needs of all of my students. One of my favorite teaching styles is collaboration. Pairing students together or putting them in a group for a project or activity is beneficial for a number of reasons. I believe collaboration encourages problem solving and strengthens communication skills.
