Vincent Traina, an American of Italian lineage, is a linguist and historian with degrees in History and Communication Arts from Caldwell University. He was awarded a scholarship to Italy from the National Italian American Foundation in 2002. A few years later, he immersed himself in the Italian language and culture again by living in Sicily as an English instructor for students of all ages. After scoring a perfect score on the NYU Language Proficiency Exam in Italian in 2010, Traina continued mastering the language through coursework at Ramapo College, Montclair State University and Rutgers University. Traina earned the Italian Educator’s Fellowship Award from the Association of Italian American Educators in 2013. Besides being molded by Italian experiences, Traina has applied his passion for history by researching for several historical societies and museums. He aims to inspire students to exercise their mind, value their heritage and apply what they've learned.
