Starting off as a tutor and volunteer educational assistant, I worked with multiple grades in multiple subjects. Originally having worked in the communications field for major corporations in Canada, I discovered that I enjoyed conducting training sessions for adults and teaching children. Thus, I decided to move into the educational field and returned to university to get my BEd (earning Top Ranking in my class and ending up on the Dean's List). All in all, I have been working with children for almost 10 years now.
I like to incorporate all the visual, auditory and tactile styles into my teaching and explore the ideas of Multiple Intelligence Theory as well as Whole Brain Teaching. However, along with securing a good technical foundation in everyday learning, I believe that traditional learning and the valuable information that books provide is important as well. It is important, in today's evolving world, that we find a balance between the interactive possibilities we have with technology and the traditional learning that has been effective in the past.
