TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi! I'm Caitlin Rose! I graduated from Chapman University in 2020 after finishing my senior year on Zoom. The beginning of my professional career was a whirlwind of pandemic-teaching in 2nd grade. Since then, I've moved down to 1st grade, but I'm just getting started in my career as an educator. I'm excited to continue to learn and grow through my journey. :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I resonate a lot with progressive education that emphasizes the intrinsic nature of students to dive deep into subjects that they are passionate about. I think project-based learning has many benefits and love to create new ways to adapt lessons into riveting activities. I think, first and foremost, creating a trusting and safe space for my students is key. Building strong rapport and relationships with students allows them to feel safe enough to share the inevitable troubles that may prevent them from being able to learn and grow most successfully.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I started at a Montessori school in the Seattle area. After second grade I transferred to a private school for gifted students. I attended a public high school in Kirkland, WA for 2 years before my family moved to the San Francisco/Bay Area. There, I finished my last two years of high school before moving down to Southern California to attend Chapman University. At Chapman, I received a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Educational Studies. I also double minored in Disabilities Studies and Language-and-Literacy.
