I am a restorative justice practitioner, author, artist, and a full-time elementary school counselor working with mostly 2nd - 5th grade. I spent almost ten years in higher education before I transitioned to the PK-12 setting. I have experience with restorative justice, behavioral assessment, crisis intervention, mental health counseling, social emotional learning, curriculum development, graphic design, lecturing, and more!
I use a person-centered approach when working with students! I help students identify their strengths, help them understand themselves and others, assist students in identifying problems, and support them by providing strategies and tools to overcome and navigate their concerns. It is my responsibility to provide a supportive, calming, friendly, and empowering space for students where they can be vulnerable and comfortable. My style in serving my students balances between challenge and support to best elicit change, growth, and personal achievement. I like to get silly as well to better relate to those I serve. :)
