I love teaching!! I have been teaching elementary school for 16 years. I love teaching kids to become writers and I am passionate about making math meaningful. I think it is so important for kids to develop confidence in writing and math.
Hi! I'm Whitney, the fun-loving, idea-organizing, math-fluency-building, word-problem-solving teacher extraordinaire! As a writing teacher, I know that every student has a story to tell and a unique perspective to share. With lots of modeling and support, I help kids organize their brilliant ideas into clear and coherent writing. From brainstorming to editing, I am the ultimate writing partner for every young author. In the math classroom, I believe that building a solid foundation in math is essential for future success. That's why I start with context and understanding before diving into symbols and equations. With an emphasis on math fluency and problem-solving skills, I help students foster a love of math that will last a lifetime. And with plenty of word problems to solve, every day is a new adventure in math class!
I am so honored just to be teaching in my wonderful school district!
