I am in my SEVENTH year of teaching. Wow, time really flies when you love what you do. I am currently teaching a 1/2 combo class. with 3 combos under my belt, I have taught every grade k-6th. I know where the littles are coming FROM and I know where they're going TO. However, my heart remains in k-2nd. I have been the highlight classroom in my district several times to exhibit hands-on, fun learning and it's my hope that with my resources you get to experience a similar style of learning.
I keep my classroom hands-on, interactive, and upbeat. My masters in Education focused primarily on research in hands-on, tactile learning so I am a HUGE proponent of that. I believe in rigorous content taught in a way that is fun and non-pressuring. My classroom encourages critical thinking and problem solving. My classroom is a safe space for my kiddos, so I try to make it feel like an extension of home with all the COZY vibes.
Aside from being a district highlight class, I don't like to brag but I do have 4 or 5 "best teacher ever" mugs ;)
My bachelors degree from California State University Fullerton (Go Titans!) is in Child and Adolescent Development with a focus on elementary education settings. My masters degree from California Lutheran University is in Education with a focus on Teacher Leadership.
I live in California, but spend 1/4 or so of my year in Texas. I like to believe I am a Texas girl at heart. I have a wonderful husband, Shane who sells real estate in our area. And we have a beautiful little girl named Emma Grace who is the SWEETEST little thing. My hobbies include bible study, cooking, and yoga! I would LOVE to see you over on my blog at primarygradeparade.com
