TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a first year 3rd grade teacher at a private Islamic School. While this is my first year as a full-time teacher, I have worked at summer camps, after-school programs, adult-education classes, and substituted. I am so excited to have a classroom of my own.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use the Responsive Classroom approach. I believe that HOW I teach is as important as WHAT I teach. We mix literature with math and art with science and learn. I believe that what I say as teacher can influence the way my students feel about learning. In my classroom, we are family!

I am a newbie 3rd grade teacher who loves teaching as much as I love learning! I believe learning should be individualized and fun. My classroom is a beautiful melting pot of cultures, languages, and religions. One my favorite mantras is, "kiss your brain!"
