I have two girls, both bright and both special in a unique way; first one - autistic spectrum disorder and the second: ADHD. They are talented, artistic in drawings and writing, have great memory, imagination, learned to read at age 2.5 years old (the first one) and both great at math. However it took my own (long forgotten) talents, effort and given up career to bring out their talents and skills instead of them being wasted in the midst of spectrum. FOCUS is their Achilles heal. Visual memory is the strength. Hence my listening comprehension worksheets and their elaborate drawing/pictures.
Sense of humor, trick(language tricks) - and if not tricked - treat, engagement through colors/fun. Focus, replaying, recalling facts in a logical sequence.
