ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Born to be a teacher! I knew from the time I was 6 years old. My mom, an amazing teacher, inspired me to go in that direction from a young age. I graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1998 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I moved to Oakland, California just a few months after graduation. I served as a second grade teacher in the Oakland Public Schools from 1998-2011. Since 2011, I have been a substitute teacher (long and short term) and most recently a mom with a passion to serve struggling readers with structured literacy.
