TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have experience teaching children 2- to 6- years of age both inside and outside the classroom. I have been a homeschool helper and home visitor for nearly 5 years before returning solely to the classroom. I have been helping adults learn basic reading skills for the last 2 years through phonetic practices.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Visual and Kinesthetic learning, so I teach and plan in the same method.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, an advanced degree in child development, and a master's in child studies. Every degree I received allowed me to assist learners further, both gifted and with IEPs receive the best educational assistance possible. Adult education was an endeavor I took on during my undergraduate days while working as an administrative and testing assistant. One of my responsibilities was to grade exams. Often the adult students in the classes would ask for my help with reading or the phonetics of certain words, as many were English language learners.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In my career, I have been a preservice teacher and traveling counselor for low-income families, helping family members to better connect or communicate with each other. Though the classroom was my home, I still greatly enjoyed seeing the whole family growing together as a unit.
