The Homeschool Wire

I have spent 7 years in the public and private school setting . I taught fifth grade for 3 years but my most recent and most rewarding position was my time spent in the special education classroom . I have four children ages 1, 6, 11, and 9 and have decided to homeschool them to ensure they have the One on one instruction that their learning styles require .

My teaching style is grounded in the philosophy that every child is capable of achieving academic success when given high quality instruction and by using instructional materials that correlate with their instructional level to eliminate frustration .

I received my bachelors degree in early childhood development from Liberty University. I furthered my professional development with a Masters Degree in Education from Belhaven University . I have also completed additional course work in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education , and Autism Studies .
