TEACHING EXPERIENCE

*PREVIOUSLY THE GUIDANCE ALLIANCE, NOW THE COUNSELING ALLIANCE!* I have worked in a variety of mental health settings in Metro Detroit, Michigan: inpatient psychiatric hospitals (adolescent units), clinical university counseling center, elementary school counseling, and now high school counseling! These experiences have shaped my work as a counselor, and many of my products are results of these experiences. The end mission is to support our students and clients in their academic, emotional, and social growth, and I hope that my products can assist your students as well.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I consult the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model when creating lesson plans and activities. For individual school counseling, I emphasize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with a SMART Goal Framework. Theoretically, my beliefs coincide with Albert Bandura's Social Learning Theory.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

"Today, as with everyday, is a new day. Be sure to remind yourself that it is okay to be different from yesterday, or not quite ready for tomorrow. Sometimes we take a step back, regress, and other times we grow more in one day than we have in an entire year. And that is exactly what life is about - balance and change. For even the moon has its phases, so why cannot we?" - Becca Lee
