TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I came into teaching working with students in a socioeconomically disadvantaged community. My passion (and specialization) is working with students at the elementary level, and my students are my greatest inspiration.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a passion for teaching students the fundamentals of reading, writing and math and having them do the small, ordinary things extraordinarily well. I believe that small wins day after day in class will snowball into significant academic gains by the end of the year. I also enjoy bringing project-based learning and creativity/art into the classroom, in order to capture student imagination and make learning more meaningful and fun.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have consistent results of moving (at minimum) 90% of my students to on or above grade-level in reading and math by the end of the school year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors of Science cum laude from Syracuse University (Syracuse, New York) and Masters of Science in Teaching (Elementary Education) summa cum laude from Fordham University (New York, New York)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I care very much about helping my peers/fellow educators succeed in the classroom and I hope you can see this reflected in the quality of the resources that I share. I read and appreciate every piece of feedback that I receive, and am thankful for the support that the TPT community has given me.
