TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught middle school math since 2004. Pre-Common Core, I taught Pre-Algebra, Math 7, Geometry, Algebra 2. Since my state adopted the Common Core, I've taught Math 7, Math 7 Honors, and a compacted Math 6/7 grade class. I've also taught Math Study Skills and two different grade levels of Math Labs. Next year I will teach Secondary Math 1 for the first time!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach in between the "old school" and "new school" teachers. I believe that activities and exploration are important for students to create and own the math they are being taught. I also believe that there is a time and place for lecture and taking notes.
