TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught both regular and TAG 3rd Grade for 22 years, ESL PK-5th for 6 years, and was a Title I Reading and Math Interventionist for 3rd-5th for 4 years. I am recently retired and love creating resources for TpT.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I provided instruction with fun and laughter in an organized, well-managed environment. I love words and word play. Games and songs were always a regular part of my lesson plans.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been a Teacher of the Week, Teacher of the Month, Teacher of the Quarter, Educator of the Year, and less officially…A Favorite Teacher of All Time.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and an M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership from Sam Houston State University. I have additional certifications in English as a Second Language and Special Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I consider myself an expert on 3rd graders and horses. I've ridden hunter, jumper, eventing, and dressage horses most of my life. I am still happily married to Tom since 1981. We have one daughter, Erin, who is a graphic designer and photographer.
