TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over 20 years experience as a technology facilitator and technology specials teacher. I have also written curriculum activities for both the Wake County Public School System, Johnston County Schools and the Department of Public Instruction in Raleigh, NC, as well as provided staff development training in Instructional Technology. In addition, I was a certified Mentor Teacher for both North Carolina and the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (Teacher Advancement Program).

MY TEACHING STYLE

Throughout my career, I have never been a "behind the teacher desk" type of teacher. I believe that relationships are key to learning and to do that, teachers must be with their students, whether it's at a table or sitting on the floor. Our students must become critical thinkers who can work with each other. My resources are designed often with collaborative opportunities to help children develop their skills and abilities as well as hone their communication skills with their peers.
