I Love Earth Science! I have over a decade of experience teaching Earth Science in New York State. I embrace the philosophy "Those who CAN, do and TEACH." Through this philosophy I combined my love of Earth science, travel, and photography to create engaging lessons that align to the NYS Earth science curriculum.
I love to engage students. One of my favorite aspects of teaching today is ability to incorporate technology into my lessons. I found that this can be extremely time consuming (searching the internet for the right animation, video, website for a lab, etc). With my pre-made lessons I have taken that time to find or create that perfect technology-based teaching tool. I also love incorporate questions into my lessons! I have been told that my teaching style is socratic-based and I ALWAYS incorporate discussion questions into my powerpoint. Some of the questions are based on new information while others are based on prior information. The areas of Earth science are connected so it's always important to lead students to the connections to prior information. All of the assignments/activities/materials that I have posted have been used in my class for multiple years. Over that time, I have revised each assignment based on student feedback and performance. Answers keys are provided for most assignments and all labs.
