TFC are created by an AP art teacher and a high school science intervention specialist- with the help of subject specialist. With 40 years experience in classroom, the studio, the laboratory and athletic fields the TFC process and product is made to develop autonomy in the classroom for students and differentiation for all members of the classroom. Teachers from special education, talented and gifted, AP & IB, and the general education setting from elementary to college have been consulted to ensure the process works in challenging all students to make connections through their classroom content mastery.
We both see ourselves as facilitators of learning and not teachers. It is not enough for us to deliver the academic content expected by the state and school district standards - we want the students to make connections beyond their content and to drive their ability to problem solve through creative means, collaboration and develop the skillset to communicate their ideas effectively and efficiently in keeping with 21st century learning.
Both Michael and Stewart have earned awards in the classroom and in other professional areas. Michael is a successful studio artist and Stewart a successful soccer coach.
Both have earned masters degrees in their relevant subject area.
